| Eagle
Mount's volunteers are the lifeblood of the recreational
activities, offering support, training and assistance to
individuals of all capabilities. Most programs require more
than one volunteer for each participant, so it is easy to see
the large need for volunteers.
The programs at
Eagle Mount are fun for both the participants and the
volunteers. It is hard not to have fun with the youth in
the day camp activities, skiing at Red Lodge Mountain,
swimming at the YMCA, enjoying equestrian at the Yellowstone
Boys and Girls Ranch or volunteering with the participants
with disabilities in any of the Eagle Mount programs.
Volunteers
truly find their experiences more rewarding then the efforts
they put into volunteering. Most volunteers are not sure
what to expect when they first get involved, but end up
enjoying it so much they come back year after year so they can
see the growth and skill development of the participants.
Jonathan Peart,
Eagle Mount Billings Executive Director, sums it up best by
stating, "Volunteers and others new to the organization
know in their minds that Eagle Mount enhances the lives of
individuals with disabilities. After being a part of Eagle
Mount for a little while, that knowledge in your mind becomes
knowledge in your heart. This subtle blending of thoughts and
feelings results in passion and love for the people we serve
and for what we do. We are grateful to all of you for this
passion for and support of Eagle Mount."
