Eagle
Mount has a wide variety of adaptive bicycles to help any
individual with a disability go for a ride. The program meets at
the City of Billings Water Treatment Plant, 2251 Belknap Avenue,
on Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 PM throughout the spring,
summer and fall months. Participants can opt for a leisurely ride
along the Yellowstone
River or a more strenuous eight mile ride into the Heights and
back along the Billings BikeNet trails. We can get anybody moving!
Testimonial
from Eagle Mount Board Member Chad Hooker: "The
Eagle Mount adaptive bicycling program is always a lot of fun.
The participants and volunteers have formed great
relationships, which continue to grow as the program expands.
The biking program is especially important to me as it has
given me an additional means of recreating.
Each week I ride my own hand crank bike along with, Tracy
Hein and Chris Huffman. We push ourselves every time out to ride
as fast and far as possible. We
fulfill our competitive appetite by taking turns leading to ride
faster than we would otherwise.
The benefits of the biking program have helped tremendously
with the recovery of my disabling condition and have spilled over
into my personal life as well.
My strength continues to increase with each session of the
biking program. This
has benefited my stamina at work and has made every day tasks
easier."
